Nuptial Mass – Major Propers

According to the 1972 Graduale Romanum for the Ordinary Form, the Nuptial Mass has several options for the sung propers:

Introit

God is in his holy dwelling place; the God who causes us to dwell together, one at heart, in his house; he himself will give power and strength to his people. (Ps 68 (67): 6, 7, 36)

This is also used as the introit for the feast of the Most Holy Family, emphasizing the link between the Holy Family and a holy marriage.

Offertory, Option 1

The Angel of the Lord shall encamp round about those who fear him and shall deliver them; taste and see how good the Lord is. (Ps 34 (33): 8, 9)

Offertory, Option 2

In you have I put my trust, O Lord; I said: “You are my God, my destiny is in your hands.” (Ps 31 (30): 15, 16)

Communion, Option 1

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God; blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God; blessed are those who suffer persecution for the sake of justice, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Mt 5: 8, 9, 10)

Also used on the Feast of All Saints.

Communion, Option 2

Seek first the kingdom of God, and all the rest will be given to you in addition, says the Lord. (Mt 6: 33)
