From the Ordinary to the Extraordinary was started as a place to post my thoughts on things I enjoy and care about, anything from the ordinary and mundane things of everyday life to the extraordinary exciting things. Some of my passions include cross country running, sacred music, the liturgy, web design, video production and media production, particularly radio.
And a little bonus for those of you who came to this page instead of just reading about me in the sidebar:
In case you were wondering, yes, the title of the blog is a play on words with the two forms of the Roman Rite (I love them both). I know… I couldn’t help it.

Peace be to you young man,
May I know how can you love both Masses when one gives less glory to God than the other. That is like saying oil and water mix or truth and error can mix. Better yet saying that the Jews worship the same God as we do.
God Bless,
Thomas
The same Jesus is present in both rites. What more do you need?
Additionally, both rites are approved by holy Mother church, who acts with His authority.
There’s good parts to both rites. I personally love the use of lots of latin, but I’m not opposed to some vernacular (the position of vatican II, incidentally
). The OF lectionary cycle is also nice as well, hearing more of the scriptures.
Stumbled on your blog today. I really appreciate it. When I told my fellow parishioners that I have been serving the altar in the EF at a parish a couple of towns away, I may as well have told them I have leprosey! Lol. I am in the prices of applying to seminary so keep me in your prayers and I look forward to seeing your posts.
